Geoff Baldwin

Geoff Baldwin

Geoff Baldwin began his career in business after 12 years in the Australian Army where he attained the rank of sergeant at 6 Battalion Royal Australian Regt, in Brisbane. He served his last five years in the elite S.A.S. Regiment in Perth, until 1986 when he elected discharge after being medically downgraded due to serious injury.

After a highly successful career in the real estate industry, Geoff Baldwin now holds the position of CEO with a Information Technology company. He is the Chairman of the Salvation Army Red Shield Neighborhood Appeal and a director on several other prominent boards. Geoff personally owns businesses specialising in real estate, property development, marketing and Information Technology.

Along with his passion for our game and through his vast experience in many areas of life and business Geoff Baldwin brings valuable input, direction and knowledge to the WA Rugby League in the position he has filled as WARL Chairman since 1999.


Charlie Burkhardt

Charlie Burkhardt

Football Director, Charlie Burkhardt is a successful businessman with interests in Western Australia and overseas. He is a long time Rugby league stalwart, having started as a player with the WARL in 1978 with Canning. Charlie has been a constant contributor to our game for over three decades and since 1995 has served as a respected Board member on the WARL. In 2005 Charlie became a Life Member of the WARL.



Mike Coleman

Michael Coleman

Michael Coleman is the Financial Director of the WARL and is very well qualified in that position, being a respected and successful accountant operating his own practice in Applecross. Mike has been involved in Rugby League since 1968 and is a hearty supporter of the South Perth Lions. Mike played as a hooker in the 70's and 80's with the Red and Whites and served as an Executive of South Perth’s committee since 1982 as well as a WARL Board Member since 2000.


Richard Campbell

For the past 24 years, Richard has been involved with and staged more than 100 exhibitions and events in Western Australia. As one of Perth’s leading exhibition groups, CMS Events is responsible for annual events such as the WA Wine & Food Festival, Big Boys Toys Exhibition, KDA Kitchen Show and Autumn River Festival and others.

CMS Events is seen as one of the leading event organisers in Western Australia. The company owns and operates three of the events under its banner and also manages under contract other project as they arise. Currently four people are employed with the company.

As a small business owner, the skills gained have provided sound background in all facets of business management, from budget control, project management to sales and marketing.

His network of business associates including media provides a good cross section of industries in Perth.


Bill Nosworthy

General Manager
Bill Nosworthy

Bill has been contracted to the Western Australian Rugby League since February 2001 as General Manager, specifically in charge of the governance and development of Rugby League in Western Australia.

Bill comes with extensive knowledge of Rugby League as a former player, coach and administrator. He has been part of the coaching and development network of the Queensland Rugby League, Queensland Under 19 coach and former employee of the Queensland Rugby League.

Bill is a Level III Coach, Level II Referee, Level I Sports Trainer, Level I Strength and Conditioning Coach and holds a Level I Australian Society of Sports Administration Certificate. He has extensive business background including Principal of Capricorn Sports Consultancy.


Joel Rawlins

Joel Rawlins

Was born in WA and moved to Newcastle to further his Rugby League playing career. Played in the World Cup qualifying games for Russia in 06 and played NSW Country 07. Moved back to Perth in 08 to play for the WA Reds and work as a development officer for the WARL.



Chris Dever

Chris Dever

An ex Western Red's 1st Grade player, Chris joined the staff in 2001 and currently focuses on the North Beach district and assists with the Joondalup districts. Chris is also coordinates all coaching accreditations in WA.

Chris is a level III coach, current coach of the WA State Team and is the defensive coach for the West Coast Eagles.


Dale Christy
Development Officer / ARL Development
Dale Christy

Dale was appointed ARL Development Officer in WA at the beginning of the year after joining the WA Rugby League at the start of 2005.

Dale has first grade experience both here in Western Australia with the Rockingham Sharks and in England with Chorley Lynx and Leigh Centurions. Dale is a former Great Britain and Ireland student International. His rugby league qualifications include British Rugby League Coach Award also Bsc Science in Sports Development.

Dale Has been lucky enough to see development programs both here in WA, England and in Russia.


Operations Manager
Val Murphy  

Val has taken on the position of Operation Coordinator in 2007, which involves overseeing the local competition and ensuring the local league is run professionally.

Val has had a very extensive career in catholic Education, being a Headmaster for 30 years.

Val is a life member of the Western Australian Rugby League and has filled many volunteer positions over the years including Managing & Coaching WA State Teams, Managing and Coaching Combined Affiliated States Teams, video review judiciary panel, 2006 chairman of selectors and ground announcer at feature games.


Jane Riddell

Jane has experience in bookkeeping, office administration, logistics as well as having 11 years of Rugby League Administration experience at a club, state and national level.

Jane holds a Level I Coaching and Level I Referee accreditations.
