INTRODUCTION
The Australian Rugby League Development and the WA Rugby League are pleased to offer interested schools an alternative to the usual sporting curriculum. Rugby League programs are currently being conducted in over 250 schools throughout Perth and is available in 2 formats as outlined below.
‘Leaguetag’is a modified version of Rugby League, developed specifically for school students new to our game. This game highlights NO CONTACT and encourages full participation by both boys and girls, and also helps to develop team and individual interaction as well as physical coordination refinement.
Rugby League is also available to schools in its’ true tackle format with all sessions conducted under supervision in a controlled and fun environment. As part of this program the WA Rugby League (WARL) in partnership with School Sport WA (SSWA) each year select an Under 12’s State team to represent Western Australia at the National Primary School Exchange in August
Clinics are usually conducted in a 2 – 3 week block and are FREE OF CHARGE.
