STRONG START FOR NEW WARL BOARD

The new WARL Board has elected successful local businesman, Terry Creasey as Chairman and he will lead a motivated board consisting:

Geoff Baldwin
Charlie Burkhardt
Brad Hopes
Mike Coleman
Richard Campbell
Sean Somerville

John Sackson who has enormous experience in Rugby League managemnt and marketing was successful in his application for the new CEO position and he will start in that role in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile board member, Richard Campbell conitinues to do a great job of steering the ship at a management level.

During December and January the Board has been working closely with the ARL on the future direction of Rugby League in WA and the outcomes have been extremelly encouraging.

The Board’s focuses in 2010 will be to strengthen and grow the local competition, to establish a strong foundation for the new SG Ball Team, to host a successful trial game between St George and Parramatta on February 14 and to assist in making the Rabbitohs V Storm game another massive success following last year’s blockbuster.

There is no arguning that 2009 was a very challenging year for the WARL but your Board is looking forward to bigger and better things in 2010 and beyond.
