After considerable deliberation and debate the WARL Board are pleased to announce that the Goldfields Titans have been successful in their bid to enter the 2010 Tooheys Cup First Grade competition.

The Titan’s made a compelling argument for their inclusion and have demonstrated to the Board that they have the resources, infrastructure and regional support of sponsors and the local government authorities to run and maintain a successful club into the future.

The Titan’s entry has been made conditional on a number of items, the majority of which answer and attend to the queries, comments and concerns that the WARL Clubs have. Generally these conditions include:

Lodgment of a significant bond with the WARL, to cover loss of income to the WARL and its clubs through forfeiture
Must abide by all Rules and Regulations as set out by the WARL
Must provide adequate playing facilities that abide by the WARL Game Day Operations Manual for all games
Must have a local Junior Base operating within 3 years
The WARL and ARL Development teams will support the inclusion of the Juniors by visiting the Goldfields on two occasions per year.
 

The Titan’s in 2010 will play in a format that is 7 away first and then 7 home games. Each WARL Club will travel to Kalgoorlie on one occasion per annum and for your planning purposes this will be in the second half of the 2010 competition. The Titans are expected to participate in the 2010 Pre Season competition that will be held in Perth during April 2010 which will conclude with the selection of the Perth City vs Perth Kiwi sides.

The Board anticipates that all clubs will embrace the inclusion of the Titans and that the hospitality provided by the Titans to visiting teams will make any trip well worthwhile.
